What TourMe is
TourMe is a travel app that helps you become your own guide. It combines human centred design with AI to deliver travel content matched to your interests and learning style, so you are not working through a generic list of sights. The app offers personalised tour guides, a knowledge question and answer feature, audio tours in English and Spanish, and storytelling aimed at children. The idea is that you can explore cities and countries around the world while actually learning something about the culture rather than only taking a photo. TourMe offers both free and paid membership services.
What you can do with it
- Get tour content tailored to your interests.
- Ask questions and get answers about where you are.
- Listen to audio tours in English or Spanish.
- Keep children occupied with storytelling.
- Explore cities and countries at your own pace.
Who it is for
- Travellers who prefer to explore alone rather than with a group guide.
- Families who need something that works for both adults and children.
- People who care about the culture and history behind a place.
- Language learners who want to practise while travelling.
What to watch out for
Free membership exists but its limits are not detailed, so check what is included before a trip. The site was returning an unstable status at the time of review, which is worth knowing if you are planning to rely on it abroad; download what you need in advance where possible. Coverage varies by destination, so a popular city will have more content than a smaller town. Finally, treat the information as a helpful guide rather than an authoritative source for anything safety related or time sensitive.
